Gimbal’s Candy
Gimbals Candy, founded by Alexander Gimbal in 1898 in downtown San Francisco, has a rich history in the confectionery industry. The company, now known as Gimbal's Fine Candies, is a family-run business that has perfected its candy-making craft for over a century.
Initially supplying the confectionery needs of the West Coast with items like nickel candy bars, penny goods, chocolates, jellies, and creams, Gimbals has evolved to offer a wide variety of candies, including its famous Fruit Slices, Licorice, and Wild Cherry Scottie Dogs, and an assortment of sour products such as Super Sour Stars and Super Sour Worms.
Over the years, the company has undergone several changes, including moving to its current location in South San Francisco in 1951 and expanding its product line to meet the ever-changing needs of its customers.
In 2017, Gimbal's was acquired by Highlander Partners, L.P., which formed the holding company Bettera Brands, LLC, for further candy and snack investments. This acquisition marked a significant step in Gimbals' growth and its continued commitment to providing high-quality confectionery products.
Gimbal’s products are available in a wide variety, including year-round and seasonal bulk specialty confections and specialty gift bags. The company takes pride in offering a selection of sour products and traditional favorites such as Cherry Lovers candy!
