Dubble Bubble
Dubble Bubble is a popular bubble gum brand invented in 1928 by Walter E. Diemer, a Fleer Chewing Gum Company accountant. The gum was initially introduced in a bright pink, which remains one of its most iconic features today.
Dubble Bubble was the first bubble gum to be marketed to the masses, and it quickly became a favorite among children and adults alike for its ability to produce large bubbles.
The original gum featured a color comic strip, the Fleer Funnies, which was included with the gum. In 1951, after a hiatus during World War II, the company resumed production and began experimenting with new flavors, adding varieties such as grape, watermelon, and blue raspberry. In 1957, the first 6-pack of Dubble Bubble was sold.
In 1959, the Fleer Corporation sold the brand to Nabisco and then to Warner-Lambert in 1981. In 2003, Tootsie Roll Industries acquired the rights to Dubble Bubble, which remains under their ownership.
The brand has had a significant cultural impact and featured in several movies and TV shows. The gum's iconic pink color and unique flavor have become synonymous with bubble gum, and it has remained a staple in the world of candy for generations.
Today, Dubble Bubble is available in a variety of flavors and varieties, with the classic pink bubble gum flavor being the most popular here in the United States.
